There are 22 SA riders amongst the 196 U15 and U17 riders from around the country for this first round of the National Junior Track Series.

IMPORTANT: Last year we had a few unsavoury incidents occur in the Main Street of Kangarilla in regards to parking. Local residents experienced cars being parked blocking driveways & when asked to move their cars to allow a clear path from homes in the Main Street, some of “us” abused the locals. This is totally unacceptable & disgusting behaviour – please respect that we have to get approvals from local council & we need to keep the residents on side. Lets not shoot ourselves in the foot – it’s not hard to get on – we would like to keep using this location – it’s up to all of us to do the right thing. Anyone who doesn’t want to make the effort to get along & show respect – please feel free to not nominate & just stay away…rant over.

Cyclo Sportif – The Range April 26th 2017

On a perfect morning for riding at The Range there were 15 teams & around 100 riders in total who put themselves to the test.

SCC would like to thank Bike Society for their generous support in donating a great supply of prizes.
CSA gave us great support (Thanks Amy & Lachlan) in getting the event up & running.

We would also like to thank the loyal and hardworking committee & support crew from our club – SCC.
Due to a few roadblocks in finding courses to hold the event on, we did the organisation in about 3 days. Many thanks to David Radzikiewicz, Chris & Therese May, Tony Lennon, Cathy Braithwaite, Howard Bartlett & Ken Gooding who all did a fantastic job helping put it all together – setup/BBQ/packup/race organisation/buying food etc etc etc – lots of jobs to cover in doing an event such as this.

Fastest men, women & mixed teams were calculated using each teams fastest lap as the decider.
Zero Friction Cycling/Mercedes Benz Adelaide blitzed the course with 4 very quick laps – their quickest being their 1st lap at 25 mins & 26 seconds which is about 40km/h on a rolling & slightly hilly in parts course.

Skinny Latte Espressos were fastest in the Women’s category & SADB2 cleaned up in the mixed category.

Final results are HERE

Thank you to all riders who supported the event & we hope to see you next time SCC run an event such as this.

Glenelg Boxing Day Criteriums & Straight Line Sprints 2016

Once again we are excited to announce the Boxing Day Criteriums & Straight Line Sprints are on again at Glenelg this year.
This event has lots of history going way back to 1980 where the Men’s Championship Race was dominated by Alan Gill, Stuart O’Grady & in latter years Cam Bayly & Chris Jongewaard have held the winners trophy aloft a number of times. The Women’s Race also has lots of household names in Women’s Cycling such as Alex Rhodes with Tiffany Cromwell having a great time of it in recent years. Jessica Mundy also had a great win the Women’s race last year – could Jessica do it again this year? C’mon ladies get involved – the City of Holdfast Bay are long time supporters of your very own Women’s race(s).
There is a race for everyone – so make sure you nominate before close off & show that you have chosen to support local racing.
