Bike theft: security tips; and SAPOL’s new “Bike Passport”

SAPOL reckon bike theft is up 30% (See Adelaide Now article)

According to the article, “BICYCLES are proving to be hot property this summer with police reporting a spike in thefts across the western suburbs.
About 115 bicycles were stolen between November 1 and January 31, with a replacement value of about $100,000.”

SAPOL along with BikeSA also developed a new “bike passport” to record your bike’s details. (CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS)

Passport reminds you of security tips (we all need reminding from time to time).

It tells you what details to record, to get your bike back, if SAPOL find it. SAPOL do recover bikes – , but in the past, it hasn’t always been easy, to match them up with owners reports of thefts.  http://www.sapolice.sa.gov.au/sapol/safety_security/safety_security_tips/property_security.jsp
